We agreed with our client that her garden had a good basic structure but lacked any visual drama. Dominated by large evergreen shrubs it had a dull and sombre air. The rear portion of the garden was large but rarely visited making the garden feel conciderably smaller than it was.
We strategically ‘edited’ the mass of evergreen shrubs, keeping the best and introducing plants with lively colour and texture, brightening the whole border. The previously neglected rear section of the garden is transformed into a secluded seating area. The visitor is tempted to explore the further reaches of the space and to linger longer, enjoying the view.
