Courtyard Garden

Blackheath SE3

This is a garden made up of various connecting courtyards. The interesting architecture of the house means that all courtyards were viewed from many sides. Our challenge with this project was to give each courtyard its own character and for the views to be appealing all year round.

For the sunniest space we created a dinning terrace that connects via stepping stones to a sunny lounge terrace. This space has a pretty, Mediterranean feel with plenty of herbs and scented flowers.

The shady front courtyard is full of colour and texture with beautiful Japanese Maples underplanted with bright woodland perennials.

For the smallest, shadiest courtyard we have chosen plants with a strong architectural look. A number of tree ferns of varying heights combined with evergreen ground cover create a bold display all year round.
